As one of the nation's largest schools of music housed within a private university, the Frost School of Music continues on a path that has seen it emerge as a strong force in music higher education Frost School of Music graduates perform in major opera companies and symphony orchestras; teach in leading universities, colleges, and schools; appear in television series and on Broadway; win Grammy awards in jazz and popular music; and provide technical, creative, and administrative support within the music industry around the globe. The Frost School of Music is a national leader in the development of contemporary programs that respond to the needs of music professions. It was the first to offer degrees in Music Industry and in Music Engineering Technology, and among the first to offer degrees in Studio Music and Jazz, Music Therapy, and Musical Theater. Strong traditional programs in performance, theory, composition, music education, and musicology have produced a constant stream of artists, creators, scholars, and teachers who have made significant contributions to the quality of musical life at local, state, national, and international levels.
